- Chicago's top cop is off the beat.
City Hall sources tell NBCChicago that Mayor Richard Daley declined to offer Jody Weis a written contract extension that would have kept him on as Police Superintendant [sic] until the end of Daley's term this May.
Without a written contract, sources say, Weis has declined to stay on board.
He reportedly will leave his post at the end of the day, Tuesday.
