July Numbers?

Yesterday we speculated that McJerseyShore and Rahm would be touting the decrease in the increase of homicide numbers as compared to July 2011 as soon as tonight. Evidently, the gangs weren't informed of the pending press conference and chest thumping:
  • Two men were killed and seven other people were wounded, including a 16-year-old boy, in shootings on the West and South sides overnight, police said.
That was two more added to the July totals and may have led Chicago to break 50 for the month. Rahm and McHandPuppet would seem kind of silly touting a massive reduction of 3 or 4 murders in the course of a month. And seeing how August 2011 had an unusually low number of homicides (under 40), they'd look doubly foolish if August 2012 ended up streaking past last years numbers.
