We're thinking of just starting a separate set of blog entries covering the Marine Unit exploits:
Six people were rescued from Lake Michigan Wednesday afternoon after the 25-foot boat they were on sank off Navy Pier.
Police Marine Unit crews rescued all six from the water after the power boat sank just east of the Navy Pier locks at 5:21 p.m., police News Affairs [...] said, citing preliminary information.
Everyone was pulled to safety and no one had to be taken to an area hospital...
Well done. Can you believe that the city has openly speculated about disbanding the Marine Unit on numerous occasions? This year alone we can recall 20 or 30 rescues that would have been deaths otherwise.
