Mayor Rahm Emanuel is hoping $25,000 signing bonuses will lure new top-shelf principals to Chicago to run as many as 50 low-scoring schools.
During an education forum in Washington, D.C., Emanuel revealed Friday that next year Chicago needs 50 “high quality’’ principals, and he’s been “playing with’’ what to do about it.
[...] The effort, which could total $1.25 million in signing bonuses alone, will be privately funded, the news release added.
Maybe we need a privately funded police department? We've heard of this company, OCP, they're supposed to be the next big thing in police work.
