Once again, inappropriate photos being the story:
- The family of a South Side man killed in a horrific pit bull attack is outraged that a grisly photograph of his death has surfaced on the Internet – and may have been posted by a police officer.
[...] It all began the night of Aug. 16 in a second-floor Englewood apartment. That’s when 44-year-old Charles Hagerman was mauled to death by at least one pet pit bull.
A few days later, a YouTube posting appeared. The opening title card read, in part, “CPD Photo. Do not forward.”
First of all, is it an official photo, taken by the Crime Lab, and circulated around? That's a whole other can of worms.
L0ong time readers know exactly how we feel about unauthorized photos, seeing as how we had months and years of material at the expense of someone who should have been disciplined harshly over her photos, but because of who she knows and who she worked for, got to skate on an obvious Rules violation.
CBS lays it right out there that they got the info from another cop. Things like this aren't funny and just brings all sorts of problems on ourselves when they get out. Think, damn it.
