Now we understand where Rahm is getting half the numbers he keeps claiming are "redeployed" to the streets:
- ....interesting development that was discussed at 35th street. Seems like Chief of Patrol Eugene Williams has been ordered to cut all district front office staff down to the bare minimum of two. There will be no more PO's used as time keepers once the system is automated come April 2012.
Combined with this:
- ...in our district we have sworn full duty sec'y, assistant sec'y, timekeeper, review bid,and review relief guy (has same rdo as review guy-doesnt help- and sometimes we have 10 crimes reported in a day) plus a full duty sworn crossing guard supervisor (for 6 guards) and altho the watch has to fill 4 crossings (which lost guards) the full duty sworn officer does NOT do crossings..
You should see how many people are still working behind the desk in the old 019 District. With supervisors, there must have been at least 7-8 people trying hard to look busy. Same with 23 or shall I say the new 019, at least 4 P.O.'s sitting behind the desk and the place was quiet as a graveyard. Ridiculous how many people are still hidden in inside spots!
Evidently, we just keep cutting the same spots over and over and when no one is looking, fill them up again. Then the Department "cuts" the spots and Rahm gets to count the same two or three people in every district three or four times each.
We understand why this is done because for a district to run smoothly, you actually need a few inside people, but some places are beyond ridiculous.
