Two seemingly related incidents:
- Incident #1 - A man was stabbed and seriously injured on a Near North Side street this afternoon, authorities and a witness said.
Chicago Fire Department emergency crews were called to the intersection of Wabash and Chicago avenues just before 5 p.m. to treat a person stabbed, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado.
The person was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, said Rosado. - Incident #2 - A suspect was being questioned this morning after a group of at least six men beat a man and took his cellphone on the Near North Side.
The robbery took place about 8 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Wabash Street and Chicago Avenue, said Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.
