Definitely one of the nicer marching days we can remember. And one of the better attended ones, too:
- A couple thousand police officers and their families turned out at the Gold Star Families Memorial and Park – just east of Soldier Field – in the annual St. Jude march.
Leading the St Jude march: Chicago’s Interim Police Superintendent Terry Hillard: A former superintendent of police who is a veteran of these marches, these days of remembrance.
Of course, there's always one media outlet that tries to downplay the march. This year, the dishonor falls on the BreakingNews.com site:
- Hundreds of police officers and supporters gathered near Soldier Field to take part in the annual St. Jude Memorial March to remember officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
Hundreds? Seriously, were these people even there? Or are they dialing it in from out of town again?
Nice to see a bunch of the old friends again though. Good to see you all and be safe, now and always.
