Two days after he took to Twitter to mock the murder of a rival teenage gangster rapper, Chief Keef Thursday faced a massive backlash of online outrage.
Thousands of commenters — many sickened by the gang culture helping to drive Chicago’s spike in shootings and murders — used Twitter and Facebook to spell out their disgust at the violent culture Keef’s raps represent.
The backlash came in a flurry — a Tweet every five seconds for most of Thursday.
Isn't this Chief Queef or whatever he's called the one who pointed a gun at Chicago Police, but was still permitted to play the main stage at Taste of Chicago?
- The rapper spent time under house arrest at his grandmother’s home after he allegedly pointed a gun at a police officer in the Gresham District late last year...
Why yes he was. Must be part of that "Chicago values" Rahm has been touting these last few months.
The dead one's mother was quoted as saying she had no idea what her son rapped about (big surprise) and refused to answer any questions about possible gang ties (of which there are many), and insisted her boy just wanted to live life along the lines of Tupac and Biggie Smalls. No one involved has commented on irony that both of them ended up dead in the street gutters either.
