"Forward. Together.", Eh Dalton?

"I got this downgrade thingy entirely under control"
 In previous entry I write:

Government spending to 'invest' in the economy is simply a scam and a lie. It's like rounding up piles of cash and burning it. We have a suffering economy, massive debt and lagging innovation to show for his 'investments'. Socialism is like stinky breath...it comes in different degrees...and they all stink. This 'lets pillage the free market, divert capital from the earners, morph it into tax revenue and hand it out for all to get ahead' disaster is refereed to as "Forward. Together". Sure Liberals. I guess it's better then "Annihilating. Wealth."  And when our (solar, et. al) deals go bust? Deny reality and spend more. Oh, and brag about what else you flushed cash on...be sure to call them investments, and of course, avoid talking about debt. Ontario voters are too selfish and 'me oriented' to weigh our Provinces debt against the value of policy...

And Now we find: Ontario credit downgrade possible, Moody's warns

A downgrade would affect the government's $190-billion debt and likely increase future borrowing costs.

"The negative outlook on the province reflects the softening economic outlook, Ontario's growing debt burden, and the extended time frame to achieving a balanced budget," said Moody's assistant vice-president Jennifer Wong.

I predict Dalton will continue to see the solution to Ontario's ailing economy and debt burden through higher taxes and 'stronger partnerships' between government and Ontario business.  These efforts, although well intended, will have a negative impact on our Province.  Time will show government encroaching on business to be a serious mistake.

Middle Class Is Getting Ripped Off...And It's Our Fault

Rising: UK income inequality has soared since 1975 - from below to well above the OECD average. It peaked in 2000 but has been on the rise again since 2005

Income gaps are widening. The 'rich' get richer, the poor stay flat, or get poorer.  At some point, (perhaps when we all run out of borrowing power) we will see the folly of incredible taxation and massive debts heaped on the 'average person'.  Until then, here's why the middle class is losing steam:

1. As long as the middle class is taxed heavily, it's purchasing power and savings diminish. Hard to save what is taken from you.  Hard to buy/invest with money you do not have.
2. Inflation is a disgusting tax that the middle class gets hurt by.  Inflation effectively makes the dollar you earned lose power.  Sadly, the Bank of Canada intentionally targets to destroy the value of your dollar by 2% per year (almost 3% this year).  The 'free market' takes no prisoners and fails to increase Canadians wages in accordance with the planned destroyed wealth of 2%. US and EU printing seismic amounts of money are factors in contributing to inflation in Canada.
3.  Crippling regulation makes hiring, innovation and growth very difficult...so companies do the wise thing and bow out.  Until you let the free market be free, restrictions will continue to prevent growth that we are looking for and capable of.
4. We have a twisted mindset of a population that affirms a 'joint venture' between citizen and government.  All this is done predominantly in the logically flawed name of 'compassion' and 'helping' others.

I doubt the population will see this and act (not humble enough, too selfish and money is still able to be printed, taxed and borrowed: so the game can continue).  However, here is what you can expect:

1. Continued printing of money.
2. Continued reckless debt appreciation in the US (and likely Canada): now over 15 trillion (bye-bye 14's).
3. Continued regulation and increase of taxes in major economic countries.
4. Continued inflation with food prices, depreciation of hard assets
5. Fights over 'austerity' where a shotgun, loaded with debt as it's ammo, is about to blow a country apart and the people still stick their selfish, greedy hands out demanding more (Greece round 2...Italy is on deck).
6.  A refusal of many to acknowledge the proper reality that we were designed to operate in accordance with a fee market that needs to be free in conjunction with a limited/proper/contained role of government.

All these 'macro' economic points have a damming impact on the middle class.  The government you vote to save and protect you is ripping you off.  Please, educate yourself and or others and make a stand.  When we the people buck responsibility and shift it, (in this case, to government) you can expect disaster.  Canada, think! Take back your responsibilities, namely you are responsible for the well being of your lively hood, not government!  If this be true, don't complain for the government to right every social wrong: it's not their responsibility...it's yours.

I Am Trying My Tail Off To Hire...I Need Help!

Canada sees biggest monthly job loss since 2009

The Canadian economy unexpectedly shed 54,000 jobs last month, the most since 2009, a sign faltering business and consumer confidence is slowing the pace of hiring.

Jobs numbers are subject to monthly volatility, but losses of this magnitude are “extremely rare,” aside from recessionary periods, said Douglas Porter, deputy chief economist at BMO Nesbitt Burns. In fact, the last such hefty job drop outside of recession was in September 1996, he added. “No question, this is an extremely loud warning shot for the economy.”

What's a manufacturing business owner of 11 yrs have to say on the matter?  Hopefully something.  I am trying extremely hard to hire people.  I am fighting like crazy to employ people, build skills and wages.  These stats are both concerning and what I have been telling readers are imminent if we continue to run our quasi-socialist nanny state programs via burdensome debt and taxes.

Listen politicians, decide what camp you are on so we know how to vote.  Do we want bigger government with higher taxes, resulting in more stats like these and more horror stories like Greece ka-booming? Or, will you end the failed Trudeau led 70's outpouring of program-loving, wealth depleting government intervention?

Listen folks, taxes and gov. debt crush the private sector. Endless regulations, rules and measures of protection strangle business.  The free market becomes the 'restricted market', and we wonder why business is not hiring?

So the left argues, 'gov. spurs/grows the economy and protects workers'. Bull.  The gov. extracts wealth by the generators thereof and draws it unto themselves (with a regulating cost, of course) and inefficiently passes it of to 'bring up' the downtrodden.  This comes at a cost to economic output, and therefore real wages and hiring go with it.  The collective group of the 'downtrodden' increases and the fatal blow has occurred: they turn to government for more entitlement...and so the cycle goes.  Go the free market for wealth creation. Go to your friends/local faith group to be picked up.  My argument is not cruel, but sensible and logical.

If you are hardworking and want a better country for you and your kids, then fight to keep more of your money.  Work hard to give to charities/faith groups that efficiently meet the needs of those who need help. This model will build the economy and people exponentially better then our government infiltrated  marketplace.

I welcome your input.

1 Trillion Cheers For Ron Paul

www.RonPaul.com

1 Trillion in cuts is exactly what the US needs to get a handle on it's debt.  Some economists argue it will lead to a recession. Well, current trends will lead to a Greece style collapse...so, take your pick.  I'll take my the short term pain with an expanded free market, less (smarter) regulation, less debt and smaller government.  This guy is more appealing then ever because we are living out the consequences of his warning from years ago: he was right.  He is offering exactly what I believe Canada needs: an American government that knows it's role and stays in bounds.  The left will not figure it out, so we need to live it out: create jobs via the free market being free!  Live it out by taking your saved tax dollars and re-investing (yes, you can invest with capital, and not debt...crazy notion eh?).  Real growth is possible. Ron Paul seems to be the only US politician with the political backbone to take us there!  Hey Ron,  this entry represents the views of at least 40 Canadians, you have our support!

While Remembering, The Conservatives Forget

Feds to spend $28M commemorating War of 1812
Seems like the Conservative are missing a beat here. Did we bloggers not precisely chronicle the list of radical spending and the effects of our paralyzing debt? Perhaps not clearly enough to our Conservative government.

If you think 28 million for War of 1812 is good value, then put your mouth to where your money is and let the private sector do.  After all, if its good value as you say, then certainly the free market will see this opportunity and meet the demand, right my free market friends? Under what political authority (within your Conservative framework) do you force all to pay for a service we may not use or want? How is this a Conservative principle?

Why do you feel you have jurisdiction to spend on culture? Conservatives wake up and smell our debt load. Remember, it's growing?  Do you kinda remember we sent you to office to lower debt, not watch debt rise, then spend on culture? Conservatives, I get programs exist and you don't slash and burn...but to create new programs that 'spur' patriotism in the direction you see fit? Political expediency at the expense of your core values of limited government seem to be the issue here.

What's wrong with letting people choose where their money goes?  I remember that was the big argument for the child tax credit you put in. Certainly, if we the people find this war important, we will study and learn and go to events of our own accord, right? I'm sick of the government taxing our money and telling us what is going to be important to us, especially from a Conservative government running massive deficits.

Does this position show the visible hand of our Conservatives? Another group of glorified Liberals who believe they need to run our lives and tell us what we need to know and watch? When will we figure out that the invisible hand of the free market is to sort these issues out, not government.

You are sending the wrong message to Canadians and the world. Liberal mantra is, "I see a need, and I will use tax dollars to meet that need". This was an endless explanation for an endless list of programs. Now that we are in power, you are singing the same tune. We did not vote for glorified Liberals who take our hard earned tax dollars and "invest" them on "important things".  We voted for a  Conservative government: limited government to expand the free market.  28 million is a lot of money we are taking from tax payers to inflate the size of government.  Look to your values and drop the program.

On Behalf Of Mr. Hudak

Since Mr. Hudak rambled on 87 bunny trails and confused his closest supporters, I will help make his points.
Mr. Hudak really meant to tell y'all that he really wanted to make this election about 1 simple thing: the economy.  Mr. McGuinty brags about massive spending programs to help the economy.  Mr. Hudak intended to tell you that the entire Liberal tax and spend agenda is about class warfare and redistribution.  He intended to articulate clearly that governments have no business running and planning the economy.  Mr. Hudak really thinks we the people of Ontario should fight through tough times and the government should get out of the way, not dive in and spend, create, and waste.
The Liberals justify damaging our children's future with a suffocating debt load because the 'here and now' relief of pain trumps core values like: personal responsibility, consequences to choices and fighting through adversity.

Mr. Hudak intended to clearly communicate that his sole mission will be to lower debt and limit government intervention in the economy.  There will be some pain since we are not allowing debt to pacify our instant cries.  But that is okay.  A 3 year old who freaks out because they do not get a second bowl of ice cream is really learning a valuable lesson...limits are imposed on us for our benefit, despite the immediate pain of not getting our way.  Debt and program spending is Dalton's way to give that screaming child the extra bowl...after all, the cries never stop.

Mr. Hudak intended to have the backbone to stand behind this message.  He foreknew there would be incredible backlash and really planned to have a response: a logical argument as to how his conservative principles truly value people and families.

He meant to stay the course, I'm sure of it.  So, in lieu of Mr. Hudak going off course and likely blowing the election, I encourage you with his logical questions and responses on what should have been the only topic he opened his mouth on.

Tic Tic Tic...."Ka-Boom": Time Is Running Out On Greece And Friends

I hope that Canadians are waking up to the world around them seeing what a European style tax and spend government would really do.

With Greece now discussing how they will have an orderly default--there's an oxymoron, and Eruo banks soon sticking their hands out (again) for more taxpayer money, they have a system of government debt under girded by the support of the over-leveraged lending markets.  With the banks all but insolvent, bond payments coming due and oops, no cash to pay, the Euro is simply scrambling to exist. I think the quasi-socialist utopia the Greeks and other Countries (Spain, Portugal et. al) were mindlessly building towards are now crumbling from within: to the chagrin of the people.

The message is clear: you need sound economic principles under girding a free market...the boring drum Harper has been beating for years is finally resounding in the hearts and minds of Canadians.
You see, it's easy to 'hate' Conservatism when all your commodities are selling at record levels putting billions into the coffers of governments for program spending...after all, they are leaving behind the poor unless the Conservatives spend it all.  It's quite another story for the Conservatives to not only be Conservatives, but be loved as Conservatives during tough times.

The Conservative values work in the tough times (lower spending, logical and limited regulation, promote business and free market, limited government), but also the good times.

Conversely, the values of left policy creates policies that implode when times get tough...i.e either the governments will continue its ridiculous spending until default, or they will cut back and there will be riots in the streets because of the embedded culture of entitlement in their people.  Left leaning policy is an unsustainable way to grow an economy.  Capital from Profit via sound economic and free policy is the best way to run our economy.  My hope is that Canadians understand the values they now support work well in good times and bad.
