A person was seriously wounded in a police-involved shooting in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side -- on the same block where a 15-year-old boy was gunned down earlier this week on his birthday.
The shooting occurred around 4:50 p.m. near the intersection of Kolin and Hirsch avenues, said Chicago Police Officer Darryl Baety. The shooting was police-involved, but no further details were immediately available, although it did not appear a police officer was shot, said a spokesman for the Independent Police Review Authority.
The victim was taken in serious to critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Rumor in the comment section said it may be the brother of the recently deceased non-gang banger.
UPDATE: Turns out to be a "friend" of the deceased, probably out looking for revenge. Be very very careful out there boys and girls. With the fest this weekend and everything, this isn't looking like a good omen.
