Another day, another person with a gun shot by the police:
- A man was shot after he pointed a gun at a Chicago police officer following a traffic stop near Garfield Park on the West Side late Wednesday afternoon, police said.
One person was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital from the 3700 block of West Washington Boulevard after Fire Department ambulances were dispatched to deal with a person shot, said fire spokesman Richard Rosado.
At about 5:50 p.m., Harrison District officers were on patrol in the vicinity of Washington Boulevard and Hamlin Avenue when a motorist committed a traffic violation, police said.
Officers tried to curb the vehicle which fled the scene. The offender exited the vehicle on the 3700 block of West Washington and pointed a handgun at the officers, according to police.
All officers OK. Good job again.
