- Interim Chicago Police Superintendent Terry Hillard told police officers at a roll call gathering today in the Pullman neighborhood to focus on their duties and said he planned to visit every police district in the future.
Hillard was appointed by Mayor Richard Daley Wednesday to the interim post after former Supt. Jody Weis' contract expired and told officers at the gathering at 119th and Halsted Streets that it felt great to be back on the streets.
Hillard denies wanting the top spot under a Rahm administration, and he's supposedly told exempt staff that there will be no major movement during his tenure. We aren't sure why he's visiting all the districts unless it's a kind of nostalgia tour.
