Two men were shot dead Wednesday in separate attacks on the South and West sides of the city, authorities said.
In the latest slaying, a gunman riding a bicycle shot a 21-year-old in the head on a rear porch behind the victim's home in the 700 block of East 50th Street in the Bronzeville neighborhood just before 9 p.m., according to early police reports.
The man, Freddie Williams, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police hadn't determined the motive for the slaying.
Earlier in the day, gunman shot a 49-year-old South Side man at least twice at about 5:30 p.m. on the 2800 block of West Wilcox Street in the East Garfield Park on the West Side, police said.

Gunshots fired from a gangway hit four people, one of them a 15-year-old boy, in an early-morning shooting in the Englewood neighborhood on the city's South Side, police said.
The victims, all males, were sitting on the front porch of a home in the 400 block of West 65th Place at about 12:50 a.m. when at least one gunman emerged from a gangway beside the home and opened fire, police said.
